Laura Milton

Laura played for Georgetown High School and Austin Juniors back in the old days when AJV practiced in the non-airconditioned gym at St. Edward's University. Over 20 years later, it is her privilege to coach for the club who helped her become good enough to play in college at Virginia Tech from 1993-1997. During college, Laura developed a passion for coaching while coaching summer camps and club teams for New River Valley Juniors in Blacksburg, VA. After college, she had the opportunity to play overseas with Athletes in Action in Poland and India. From 1999-2005, Laura started and grew the volleyball program at U-TURN's Sports Performance Academy in Richmond, VA. While there she coached year-round private and group lessons, started inner-city leagues and coached for 2 different high schools. She also coached various age groups with the Richmond Volleyball Club spending most of her years there as the 18 National assistant coach. Laura was also blessed to spend time overseas playing in Slovenia for the 2003-2004 season. In 2005, Laura moved back to Texas and started coaching for Austin Juniors. Besides taking the 2012 season off, she has coached since 2006 spending most of those years with 13 Cedar Park. Laura loves working with the younger age group establishing good fundamentals, communication skills, and team unity. Since 2007, Laura has coached the Austin Royals which is a local Christian home-schooled team. Laura loves being able to incorporate her faith into coaching through this Christ-centered team. In 2011, the Royals finished 2nd at the Home School National Tournament which takes place in Omaha, Nebraska each year. Laura and her husband Scott enjoy working with the youth at their church where Scott is a youth pastor. They have 2 boys Cole and Ethan.
