Scott Mayhew
Scott played on the University of Texas mens team from 1981 through 1983. He played and coached in the USAV Open Division, qualifying for Adult Nationals in 1984 and 1985. Scott coached for 17s for Austin Juniors in the club’s first season. He was a graduate assistant coach at the University of Houston in 1986, while studying exercise physiology in grad school. Scott also founded Houston Junior Volleyball and was the club’s director for its first two years. Scott was the head volleyball coach at Louisiana Tech University from 1989 to 1994, recording five straight winning seasons and was named Sunbelt Coach of the Year in 1991. He was head volleyball coach at Southwestern University from 1995 through 1998. His team advanced to the NCAA tournament three times and won their conference twice. Moving back to Houston, Scott was the Director for Willowbrook Sports from 2001 through 2011. His teams won the Tour of Texas twice, and he was a coach on three teams that won medals at JOs. From 2012 through 2014, he coached and trained setters for Houston Skyline.
