Karlie Redfern
Karlie has played volleyball for 14 years as an outside and is continuing to play indoor, grass, and sand after graduating college. She attended Cannon School for 14 years in Concord, NC where she played Varsity all 4 years. She was captain from her Sophomore to Senior year and was selected as CISAA Player of the Year her Junior and Senior year. She earned all-state honors and was a first-team all-conference selection throughout her career there while being a four-time all-tournament honoree. Karlie received team MVP multiple times throughout her career at Cannon. She played for Carolina Union Volleyball Club for 5 years (15s-18s…18s twice) and won the MEQ qualifier her first 18s year.
Karlie continued her volleyball career at Flagler College which is located in St. Augustine, FL.
Her Freshman year (2017), Flagler made it to the Division 2 Elite Eight in Pensacola, Florida. She played in all 31 matches with 30 starts. Her Freshman year she received PBC Tournament MVP, All-PBC second-team, PBC frosh of the year, Southeast Region frosh of the year, Southeast Region all-tournament, and All-Southeast Region honorable mention. Outside of playing, she made the PBC Presidential Honor Roll and Dean’s List.
Sophomore year (2018) she started in all 27 matches while leading the team in kills and kills per set. Karlie received the honors of All-PBC first team, All-Southeast Region second team, and All-Southeast Region (AVCA). In the classroom, she continued to receive PBC Presidential Honor Roll and Dean’s List.
Karlie’s Junior year she started in all 33 matches and lead the team in kills. She recorded her 1,000th kill and is currently 9th all-time at Flagler in total attempts. She received the honors of All-PBC first team and All-Southeast Region honorable mention. Karlie made the Dean’s List this year as well.
Karlie’s Senior year (2020/2021) she had a knee injury which took her out for the season. This was also the initial COVID year where they moved their Fall season to the Spring. She earned PBC Presidential Honor Roll and Dean’s List.
Once moving to Austin (2022), she wanted to continue being involved within the volleyball world where she is now coaching for AJV. This is her first year coaching but throughout her time playing she helped work camps at her High School and College.
